With English being the global language it is, providing quality training for professional development becomes a must. In response to the growing demand in Europe and Latin America, as well as in the rest of the world, for improvement in the quality and effectiveness of English language teaching in both the public and the private sector, a number of Spanish and Latin American universities, in collaboration with La Fundación UniversitariaIberoamericana (FUNIBER), have developed an interuniversity programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), specifically designed for distance learning.
